Description
Handmade by Priscilla of Inuvialuit Carvers, this unique size 6.5 sterling silver ring was sand cast and features genuine ivory with beautiful sapphire gemstones. Each sand cast piece has its own character, and this ring developed an especially beautiful finish during the casting process.
Because of the ivory set into the ring, I had to dunk the ring into water to cool it immediately after casting. This created a natural burnt accent around the ivory, giving the silver a darker, aged look and making the ring completely one of a kind. The contrast between the sterling silver, natural ivory, sapphire gems and burnt casting marks makes this a truly unique piece of handmade Indigenous Canadian jewelry.
